  • Dennis L. Gierhart, Ph.D.

  • Dennis L. Gierhart, ZeaVision Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and member of the Executive Committee. Dr. Gierhart received his Ph.D. from Cornell University in 1978 in Food and Industrial Microbiology and his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Ohio State University in 1973 and 1974, respectively. From 1986 to 1998, Dr. Gierhart was founder and President of Applied Food Biotechnology, Inc., a food/feed ingredient company. Dr. Gierhart helped build Applied Food Biotechnology from a one-person operation to an international operation with facilities on four continents. In addition to being the company's founder, Dr. Gierhart served in various capacities including President. Prior to founding Applied Food Biotechnology, Dr. Gierhart directed corporate research programs for two Fortune 500 food companies.

  • In addition to serving as company Chairman, member of the Executive Committee and CEO, Dr. Gierhart's responsibilities at ZeaVision include a leadership role in scientific research and development. In addition Dr. Gierhart is principal in Terra Investments, a real estate company.

  • President and Executive Committee Member

  • Chris joined the ZeaVision team August 17, 2009, as Vice President Sales and Marketing, and was promoted to President in August, 2010.

  • Before joining ZeaVision, Mr. Barber served as a commercial leader within GE Healthcare's Medical Diagnostics business, a $1.9 billion division of GE and the world leader of diagnostic pharmaceutical imaging agents.
  • In his twenty-seven year tenure at GE Healthcare and legacy healthcare companies, Mr. Barber held commercial leadership positions of increasing responsibility in a number of businesses, with a proven track record of building effective commercial teams and driving growth thru customer centric focus and actions.

  • Mr. Barber earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University Central AR, and executive training at The University of Chicago, University of Michigan, and the GE Executive development center.

  • National Customer Retention Manager

  • Michael joined the ZeaVision team January 11, 2010, as a Customer Support Specialist and was promoted to National Sales Manager May 14, 2010. Effective April 1, 2011 Mike became ZeaVision’s first National Customer Retention Manager.

  • Mike exemplifies the ZeaVision corporate values and brings enthusiasm, passion, and an extensive background of 25+ years of sales and sales leadership experience to ZeaVision. Mike’s extensive commercial experience will benefit ZeaVision customers and the organization in his role.

  • Prior to joining ZeaVision Mike worked as an Account Executive for The Bureau of National Affairs, Regional Marketing Executive for ADP Dealer Services Division, and Major Accounts District Manager for the ADP Employer Services Division. Mike also owned and operated a successful web based enterprise. Mike attended the University of Missouri in Columbia where he studied marketing and management. Other accomplishments include multiple President’s Club years and consistent leadership in growing business throughout his career.

  • Mike lives in St. Peters, Missouri, with his two sons and enjoys outdoor activities with family and friends.

  • Sandy Canady

  • Sandy joined the ZeaVision team in January of 2005 as Administrative Assistant to CEO and Founder, Dennis Gierhart. In addition to upper management support, Sandy provides support to all other key department heads at ZeaVision.

  • Sandy’s talents are numerous and her contributions have been many. She was instrumental in the design of the new Corporate Headquarters in St. Louis, and in the coordination of the relocation to that new facility which was completed in March of 2005. Sandy has played an important role in launching ZeaVision’s EyePromise product line and more recently, the QuantifEYE program for Optometric practices. She also plays the role of customer service and order coordinator for customers who choose to place orders through the corporate office.

  • Sandy brings with her 25 years of administrative and business experience in the St. Louis area. She spent 17 years with a large aluminum company as an executive assistant to the Vice Presidents of Marketing, Sales, and Research and Development. Over the last 10 years she has worked for a large security firm and as a loan officer for a large mortgage company.

  • Sandy has a Bachelor of Science degree in Commercial Art, with a minor in business from the University of Missouri. She also had an interest in finance and decided to continue her education in that area. She currently holds licenses in financial securities, insurance, mortgages and real estate.

  • Sandy and her husband, John, are very involved with their three teenage sons, playing a very active part in their sons’ high school sports. Both Sandy and her husband love to travel and enjoy playing golf.
  • Sandy is very excited to be part of a young company that has the potential to make a difference in the lives and health of anyone at risk of developing macular degeneration. She feels that being part of a company that is helping improve the overall health and vision of people of all ages, especially seniors, is not only extremely important but enormously rewarding. She is compassionate toward customers and passionate about the benefits of ZeaVision’s products and programs.

  • Chief Financial Officer

  • Ann brings over 30 years of experience in finance, accounting, marketing and operations from Peat, Marwick and Mitchell, Ralston Purina, Nestle, Kimberly Clark and Dallas Area Rapid Transit. She is a CPA and has earned an Effie and Corporate Woman of the Year Awards. Ann’s primary role is to position ZeaVision for growth around the corporate goals in the areas of cash management, accounting, finance, personnel and production. Ms. McCarthy earned a BS from Iowa State, MBA from University of Wisconsin and has completed all but her disquisition for a Doctor of Management from Webster University. Ann and her husband reside in the St. Louis area.

  • Terry Sullivan
  • Vice President of Sales and Marketing

  • Terry has 23 years experience in Marketing, Sales, and Entrepreneurship. He has management experience with Elsevier, Ignite! Learning, and St. Louis Music, has consulted with numerous B2B and B2C companies, and successfully launched three small businesses. Prior to joining ZeaVision, Terry worked with the company as a marketing consultant. Terry has a Masters Degree in International Business from Saint Louis University and is a Visiting Professor at Keller Graduate School of Management and DeVry University. Terry and his family reside in the St. Louis area.

  • Emily joined ZeaVision in March, 2010. Emily received her MBA from the University of Texas at Austin and her J.D. from Washington University. Prior to the MBA program at the University of Texas, Emily practiced patent litigation at Jenner & Block in Chicago where she focused on pharmaceutical and medical device matters. Emily resides in the St. Louis area.
