A Letter from the Chairman
I would like to welcome you to our web site and tell you about ZeaVision®, the company, and our philosophy.
We are fortunate to live in a time when the Internet allows us to communicate directly with vision loss sufferers, their families,
eye care professionals, and support community. I promise to make this web site a dynamic source of useful information.
We welcome your input and look forward to hearing your ideas on how to better serve you. You can reach us at
info@ZeaVision.com.
I became interested in zeaxanthin and macular degeneration almost two decades ago after scientists in Boston and Miami identified it as part
of the macular pigment. From my years of work in nutrition and biochemistry, I knew this was an important discovery. Since the identification
of zeaxanthin and its important role in macular health, I have seen it as my mission to bring the benefits of zeaxanthin to a wider audience.
As part of that mission, I have taken both personal and financial risks. I have underwritten work that has gone into zeaxanthin research and development.
I believe I was the first human to take large purified quantities of zeaxanthin over extended periods of time, and I continue to take it now.
As one of the founders of ZeaVision, LLC, I am pleased to introduce these products to the market place. In addition, and more recently we have
introduced a program called QuantifEYE®, that offers a device, that can measure the levels of this critical nutrient in the eye.
This will allow, for the first time, the ability to quantify the increase of a critical nutrient in the eye in response to supplementation.
This is a major advance in preventative eye care and we are proud to be part of the introduction. The launch of ZeaVision was
the result of the collective work of eye-care professionals, scientists, vision loss foundations and many business colleagues and partners over the last 20 years.
While it is deeply satisfying to introduce EyePromise® products to an under-served market, it must not be viewed as an end goal. We see it as a starting point. In that spirit, we
would like to make some promises to you about ZeaVision and our products.
Continue to monitor the safety and quality of our product and
to introduce new products when research suggests that additional benefits are possible.
Communicate information about our products and their benefits in a direct manner without misleading claims.
Continue to use Information Technology and the Internet as a catalyst for improving communication between the various communities,
including macular degeneration sufferers, personal and professional caregivers, and the scientific community.
Continue to build an organization of dedicated and compassionate employees that are responsive to the macular degeneration community.
Reinvest financial gains of our for-profit organization by selectively and efficiently supporting research and low vision organizations.
ZeaVision — The Hope
ZeaVision, LLC was started by individuals who want to make a difference. I am proud of what we have accomplished so far, but know that much
remains to be done. It is our fervent hope that ZeaVision, and our products, will help those at risk of, or currently suffering from acquired vision loss.
Also I hope this letter and our web site will give you a sense of who we are and the passion we bring to what we do. We want to serve you better, so please don't hesitate to write us.
Sincerely,
Dennis L. Gierhart, Ph.D.
